Empowerment: Your Worth, Your Terms — Reclaiming Voice After You've Been Made to Shrink

Many employees leave toxic dynamics, a bad manager, a demeaning review cycle, a culture that punished visibility,  having learned to make themselves smaller. This session unpacks how workplaces condition people to under-value their contributions and over-apologize for their presence, and offers concrete language and posture for reclaiming space without becoming combative.

Learning objectives: Participants will be able to:

  1. Identify the workplace patterns and feedback loops that erode self-worth over time.

  2. Distinguish between assertiveness and the "difficult employee" label often used to silence it.

  3. Practice scripts for restating value in performance conversations, negotiations, and daily interactions.

  4. Build a personal framework for recognizing when they're shrinking and interrupting the pattern in real time.
